Alison Headley has used many different blocks to create this linocut print. This is Part II in the Suzani inspired series and a very limited edition of only 15. Each one will be unique as the artist continues to experiment with symbols and colours.

"Pattern and colour have always played an important part in my work. I love the almost mesmeric power a pattern can induce and the idea that the symbols within the patterns have hidden meanings turns the whole piece into something much more significant than solely a piece of decorative art. And as with the importance of the symbols, the colours are also carefully chosen as my way to impart certain emotions in the piece."

Alison Headley

Alison Headley’s artwork focuses almost solely with printmaking on Lino, and her passion for colour and composition play an important role in every piece she creates.

The endless scope lino printmaking produces means that it fits in perfectly with her varied interests and subject matter. From still life to people, animals and landscape there is nothing she won’t try to recreate in Lino print form. A nomadic childhood and a continued love of travel, photography and an obsession with collecting ephemera along the way, also help spark her sometimes quirky way of seeing the world around her.
